Used this pattern multiple times for my handmade small bikini business. Thought that the process was going to be more complicated, but was extremely surprised as to how easy this is! Super Cute and love that this trend is coming back for more modesty. I never thought that I would be wearing these as I am a cheeky girl myself, but was happily surprised. Can be worn on top of bikini bottoms, individually, and or just as cute shorts!
I made them in a size L, the pattern was super well organized and easy to use, however I had issue with the fit of the crotch/gusset part. (hence the photo is not on my body) When I purchased them I was looking for shorts, and this pattern came highly recommended for swimming shorts with a tight fit like this, but when I purchased shorts I was expecting SHORTS and not a bikini like fit between the legs. If you are wanting something with coverage or to stop your legs from rubbing together this is not it.
Three stars because despite not being what I was looking for they are DARLING.
Used this pattern to make a cute cutout one piece and I really love these bottoms! They're comfy and flattering but I do dislike how little the crotch is. If I went to a beach party I could definitely not sit criss cross when on a blanket with my friends without feeling like it's going to turn into floss. I also didn't like how the pattern was arranged in printing but it was a small pattern so it was manageable. If it were any bigger I might have went insane.
I’m a complete beginner in sewing but managed to make this lovely piece for my pole dance lessons! It’s amazing to practice in self made shorts. Thanks a lot for the YouTube tutorial. Found it very useful :)
Here is a picture of the back of the Charlie bottoms! I am new to sewing swimwear, but I’m pleasantly surprised how these turned out for me! The YouTube video is very helpful and detailed. I really appreciate the step-by-step tutorials you provide us with! Thank you!
I made these in a size small for my mother, and I will attempt a size large for myself very soon! Looking forward to surfing and playing in the waves in these :)
Absolutely PERFECT! Australian here and the A4 option is absolutely spot on, I’ve never worn swim shorts before but these are my new ALL TIME FAVOURITE!
I really wanted to like these bottoms, but had real issues with fit around the crotch - not enough coverage and major camel toe. Sorry but I don't want to post any pics! The gusset seam is quite far forward so I redid the pattern adding some length and also width, but unfortunately it didn't make enough difference for me to want to make these again - none of my muslins are wearable. A shame - I guess we all have different body shapes, but some more info on the patterns about fit eg finished garment size, rise heights etc, might have helped me make a better decision about whether to purchase this pattern
This pattern was exactly what I was looking for!! I chose to not make them reversible, so I ended up flipping the top of the waistband down with a zig zag stitch and left the leg holes unfinished.
I love it but the pattern could be a little easier. Maybe it’s just me but putting this pattern together takes me longer than other patterns. Beside that the product always comes out looking great. I love the designs
I remember the first time it came out, and I didn’t like the pattern because I thought it wouldn’t be flattering. Recently, I bought it for a Halloween costume, and I actually loved how it looked on me. Now I’m thinking about making a matching set!
